Most recently Co-Chief Executive Officer, Co-Chairman and Co-Founder of Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Chirag is now a Co-Chairman of Amneal’s Board of Directors. Chirag’s lifelong drive and constant desire to discover “what’s next” helped grow Amneal from humble beginnings to a significant global presence. He has also co-founded and/or invested in several independent biopharmaceutical companies – Asana Biosciences, Kashiv Biosciences and Prolong Pharmaceuticals, each of which specializes in innovative science and drug delivery technologies. Earlier in his career, Chirag co-founded technology companies NextGen Technologies and Veriprise Wireless.

Chirag’s industry honors include the 2011 Ernst & Young National Entrepreneur of the Year Life Sciences Award®. He supports various philanthropic causes; and, together with his wife, Priti Patel, established the Niswarth International Foundation in 2013, which aims to bring fresh water, sanitation, nutrition and education to underprivileged children. Chirag serves on the Boards of the Liberty Science Center of New Jersey, New Jersey City University, Art of Living Foundation, Family Reach Foundation, and WIN Foundation.

Chirag received bachelor’s degrees in Commerce from H.A. College of Commerce, India, and in Business Administration from New Jersey City University. He also received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from New Jersey City University in recognition of his efforts to serve others.
